WHAT IS WORK OPPORTUNITY TAX CREDIT?
WOTC is a federal program that gives employers up to $9,600 in tax credits per employee if the employee meets certain criteria, which may include:
SNAP (food stamps)
Those that live in disadvantaged or low-income areas
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF
Long term unemployed
Supplemental Security Assistance (SSI)
When candidates apply to your job or new hires are on-boarded, they will answer a few questions to determine if they are WOTC eligible.
If a candidate or a new hire is WOTC eligible, Heartland will display the estimated tax credit value in their profile
Heartland will then automate the collection of the necessary documents you need to get your WOTC certificate.
The savings with Heartland's work opportunity tax credit program
Approximately 25% of all employees in the US qualify their employers to receive federal tax credits worth $2,400 to $9,000 per new hire.
There is no cap on the amount of tax credits an employer may earn, so as your business grows, so will your savings.
